Client’s Needs:
OYOY Living Design needed a flexible and efficient way to manage their Shopify store. They wanted a task-based approach where they could share daily requirements, focusing on both functionality and design improvements. The goal was to keep the store visually appealing, user-friendly, and up-to-date with the latest features. This demanded quick implementation of tasks, guaranteeing the store met their evolving needs while delivering a seamless shopping experience for their customers.

- Customizing the Product Details Dropdown: Modifying the product details dropdown on the Product Details Page (PDP) while ensuring it aligns with the existing theme structure required overriding default Shopify templates and Liquid code without disrupting the page’s responsiveness.
- Cookie Popup Implementation: Adding a cookie popup that complies with privacy regulations while blending with the site’s design was critical. It involved scripting with JavaScript to maintain proper functionality without affecting page load times.
- Preventing Page Reload on Add-to-Cart (ATC): Preventing the page from reloading after clicking the ATC button on the collection page demanded AJAX implementation. The challenge was ensuring real-time updates to the cart while maintaining smooth performance across devices.
- Fixing Hover Issues: Addressing text visibility on hover and making color changes required careful CSS adjustments. The challenge was ensuring these changes were consistent across browsers and screen sizes.
- Accordion Filter Functionality: Verifying previous filters close automatically when a new one is opened required advanced JavaScript. The difficulty was maintaining a smooth user experience while preventing conflicts with other interactive elements.
- Footer and Tab Section Styling: Bold styling for footer links and uniform height adjustments for sections in “Shop by Look” posed design consistency hurdles. These changes needed to be pixel-perfect to maintain the site’s professional look.
- Validation Messages: Implementing real-time validation messages for the cart involved JavaScript and Liquid code integration. The challenge was confirming messages were clear, dynamic, and non-intrusive.
- Spacing Adjustments: Achieving consistent spacing on the homepage and cart drawer required detailed CSS modifications to maintain design harmony while adapting to dynamic content.
Addressing these obstacles demanded expertise in Liquid coding, JavaScript, and CSS while prioritizing performance and user experience.

- Product Details Dropdown and Menu CTA Updates: We introduced a dropdown for product details on the Product Details Page (PDP) while taking care that top menu CTAs were converted to capital letters for better visibility and impact. These updates involved custom Liquid coding and styling to align with the store’s branding.
- Cookie Popup Integration: Implementing a cookie popup compliant with privacy laws required a JavaScript-based solution that was both lightweight and user-friendly, maintaining minimal impact on site performance.
- Seamless Add-to-Cart Experience: By integrating AJAX functionality, we ensured that clicking the Add-to-Cart (ATC) icon on the collection page didn’t reload the page. This enhancement allowed for smoother shopping experiences, keeping users engaged.
- Hover Effects and Text Visibility: Addressing visibility issues for hover text on the PDP and shipping tax calculation terms involved precise CSS adjustments. We tried our best to uphold consistent, accessible design across devices.
- Enhanced Filter Functionality: To improve navigation, we implemented an accordion filter system that auto-closes previous filters when new ones are opened, streamlining the user experience.
- Cart Drawer Spacing and Validation Messages: Adjusting spacing in the cart drawer and adding real-time validation messages, such as “You added [Product Name] to your cart,” required scripting changes and dynamic feedback integration.
- Uniform Design and Layout Adjustments: Achieving equal heights in the “Shop by Look” section and ensuring consistent spacing between products on the homepage involved CSS refinements to maintain design coherence.
- Footer Link Styling: Bold styling for footer headings improved visual separation, enhancing usability and navigation.
- Tabbed Product Sections: We introduced a tabbed design for product pages, providing users with organized, accessible information for an improved browsing experience.
These updates not only resolved existing issues but also upgraded the store’s performance and user engagement, creating a top-notch, visually appealing shopping environment.
