Client’s Needs:
Dormity already had a website on Magento’s older version, i.e. 2.3, so they were searching for a company that could transition it to the latest version (Magento 2.4). It’s credit goes to Rock Technolabs developers for delivering their fully-functional Magento store to satisfy their needs. The list goes too long as the Dormity website requires several extensions, modules, and integrations for custom features, speed optimization, import & export of data, and consumer tracking. They want their website backend to be completely customized, for which we made numerous changes associated with store information, website restriction, order status, terms & conditions, mapping, and automated data transfer.
They also seek diverse advanced features related to product search, delivery time, navigation options, banners, pricing, checkout page, thank you page, code audit and more that we integrated using third-party tools. Additionally, we made many changes after the installation of modules to make it workable for the store and enhance user experience.
Challenges:
Challenges are a part of development, and our developers are warriors who overcome them every day, as they did with the TV lift cabinet website. For the clients, high performance was the first and foremost priority; however, we were getting issues with the same as there were many extensions. Nonetheless, some of them hindered performance, so at last, we deleted the problematic one and replaced it with more quality-driven extensions
We were getting conflicts while customization and modification, which was very troublesome. We even had to disable a few customization options, clear the cache, and review all customization codes to find any logic errors. Another problem was related to the catalogue price rule; developers were getting the below message repeatedly.
“A technical problem with the server created an error. Try again to continue what you were doing. If the problem persists, try again later.” This issue was also successfully tackled by making some changes in the js file in the showChooserElement function, and then the message disappeared.
Another obstacle was related to the Breeze theme; firstly, when installed with the module, the file was hidden, and then after making a list of changes, for some reason we lost all of them when updated. Still, this was also solved, but it took too much time. A few minor changes were resolved within one or two mins as our developers have years of know-how in dealing with these complexities.
Solutions:
Earlier, the site was taking at least 9 seconds to load. To resolve this, we enabled the varnish cache, set up the content delivery network, optimized images, used Magento log cleaning, disabled the flat catalogue category, minimized javascript & CSS, and increased the website interaction via multi-function extensions.
There were many extensions that we installed, configured, and customized as per the site requirement, including, AjaxCart by Mageplaza, Onestepcheckout at Mageplaza, Amasty GooglepagespeedOptimizer, Amasty ProductFeed, Layered Navigation by Mirasvit, Sorting by Mirasvit, AdvancedReviews by Aheadworks, DeferJS by Meetanshi, MageArray AjaxCompare, and WeSupply Toolbox.
Existing modules were also upgraded and overridden with the upgradation of Magento, plus we integrated third-party scripts, such as Hotjar, google analytics, google tag manager, klaviyo, Norton shopping guarantee, ShareASale tracking, and live chat to track the user, provide them with better experiences, and get useful insight into customer data.
Many other changes were made, such as in Aheadworks Advanced Review Form layout for the PDP page, Mirasvit Layered Navigation to filter and sort out by layout, Mageplaza Osc checkout page front-end layout, plus our developers created custom email templates, catalogue & cart price rules, and a new page for colour sample products.
The list does not end here, we added 360-degree image view and print-it functionality to the pdf page, integrated the store with WordPress, connected payment integrationsoftware, did an overall code audit, and set up a breeze theme, and there were many small tasks that we couldn’t put here.
